Hi all

Jimmy...your first post summed up how I felt 16 months ago when I started. You dont say which faction you were. In my case it was Julii equites vs British chariots. Equites were commanded by a commander confident from wiping out Gauls. But whats this... sliced up by chariots that seemed to charge faster than equites could run. Carnage..absolute b* carnage.

Advice on forums gave me the answer. Massed infantry..particulary spears and some velites perhaps. Even peasants. Chariots have no defence rating..even the weakest troops can kill them..if they just stand still long enough.

Using chariots well comes from knowing how to destroy them. As a user...keep them moving..cut up enemy cavalry. As mobile archer platforms they can get onto high ground behind the enemy and kill kill kill. Then run away when threatened...and come back....and kill...well you get the picture.

good luck
