about allowing a single province to produce multiple units when the province upgrades its casltes or when certain upgrades are met. Or the ability to build mutiple buildings. I think if we apply this to the game we will value more heavily on the "home" province and send most troops from home. Or larger the castel the greater the number of solders in the group that it trains.

If a remember correctly when last discussed the main arguments for this idea was : More flexibilty, the possibility of raising armies quicly when needed.

The main argument against: Fear that this would cause even more "attrition" battles/ games taking away the tactical part of the game.

    Was there something else?

Actually there was also a concern that, given the reduction in build time for the various dojo's and castls that we saw occur with WE/MI, play would move toward ashi rushes - build 3 or 6 at a time. (6 at a time due to the idea that 2 ashi's could be trained instead of 1 Yari Sam...) Create this - and you will end up with an artificially created setup where, in single play and in the MP campaign (if we get one) where ashi hordes are the norm.
