    just 1 more quick question, what providences and government types allow me to recruit the african elephants?
    Numidian ones. Ippone in particular. Level 3 factional barracks if I remember correctly.

    1) IIRC the appearance of late, mail-armoured units is linked to the vanilla Marian reform.
    2) African elephants can be recruited west of Carthage and north of the sahara (forest elephants only) and also south of Egypt (both bush and forest elephants).
