    Default Kingdons expansions and ports

I wasn't really sure where to post this and I apologise if its been mentioned elsewhere but I have a question and a suggestion regarding Kingdoms (although may be too late for that). Simple question is really given that CA have introduced some sort of castle which can be unmanned (ie the old fort but unmanned) which is great from my view point but does anyone know whether they did anything about ports?

In the current game you see your little port developing from a village to a village/town with a wall etc but if you march anyone in there and then fight a battle all you get is a normal landscape. I would really love if the castle/fort used in Kingdoms could be expanded to cover the ports as well ie if you have a port which looks like an unwalled village you get a fight in an unwalled village and if it looks like a little walled town you get to fight as a walled town. Its just one of those things but would in my mind add an extra dimension around defending a port from the land.

Ive thought of that before as well... I think it would be pretty simple to create a map like that (although i really have no idea). All you would have to do is import the already created towns/villages/or whatevers and then make one side of the castle face water... and would definately add another dimension to tactics and choosing the battle locations.

Better question: Is there somewhere on the forums for input on the Kingdoms expansion?

At the moment you can't have garrisoned forts and its nothing to do with map creation (modding) you can have settlements and they have ports. I'm not sure if you can build a fort on a port tile anyway (haven't checked that). But this was asking if in effect ports could build up buildings and walls something similar to settlements (but based only on the port buildings) in the settlement. Although obviously it causes issues if the port was then 'besieged' and the owner of the settlement decided to blow up the port reducing it to a village whilst under siege!

I wasn't bothered about additionally having sea coming up to the walls etc.

Creating a custom map with a port requires a lot of time actually. EB actually has one, the one with Rhodes, and it took us a big amount of time.

Yeah, I enjoy playing the EB custom battles (especially the Hanging Gardens...street fighting ) but the guys did a **** load of work.
