I was avoiding this thread seeing as I haven't actually cut my hair yet, after making such a big deal about it in that thread before. Since you bring it up, though, the last time I cut it was about 3 and a half years ago.
But I'm getting it done on thursday, honest! The appointment's made and everything.

Last time I had a pair of scissors in my hair, was in May 1995. It stopped growing a long time ago, of course. I treat it well otherwise, though.

Unto each good man a good dog
When on R&R, I rarely get hair-cuts. I get really long, curly hair, as do all other members of my family excluding my father.
When in the military, it is every week.
When preparing for an operation, it is good to get a hair cut, at least for me. A good ol' mohawk gets the morale up.
BKS, stay strong.

Somewhere between 4 and 6 weeks, depending on how much time I have.
I have a crew-cutish thing going, so I can hide a lack of haircut really easily.

To mark such a singular event you should consider donating those precious locks to an organization that will use them to make hair-pieces for those undergoing chemotherapy. Make your sacrifice count by helping those in need, a worthy deed.Originally Posted by Big King Sanctaphrax

Don't get too excited yet folks. BKS didn't say how much hair he's getting cut. It may just be a little trim to restore some order rather than a full blown "take it all off" cut.

Usually somewhere between the 4 and 7 weeks, that's usually the time when it tends to get in front of my eyes, or when I can't quite model it the way I'd like to.

When I had a full head of hair, I'd let it go 6-8 weeks between haircuts. Now, the few stragglers I have left on the top look quite unkempt if they don't get trimmed down on a regular basis. And the sides and back are as thick and grow as quickly as they always did. I do a lot of business travel and I don't always have time to dash out for a haircut before I'm required to attend a customer visit, so it's best for me to keep it 'ready to show' at all times.

As rarely as possible, but since I go to a school that would surely regulate height and nose size if it could, I can't usually put it off more than a couple of months.

When I was a kid a had a mop head and got a hair cut about every 3 months. In Highschool I buzzed it all off and maintained it at home with a 1" buzzer. While deployed I kept it pretty much the same but now that I'm back to being a dirty civy I've grown it out so it's just a 2" buzz around the sides and a trim with scissors on the top, just enough to keep the hair off my neck and ears so my ROTC Cadre and National Guard leadership can't get mad because I make sure it meets regulation. After texting two weeks is the max limit before those hairs touch the ear and I'm a dirty hippy. Hope when I go active again as a Lt. that my CO will allow me to have my long yet regulation haircut, I'm tired of maintaining the small turd of hair on the top.

Four stage strategy from Yes, Minister:
Stage one we say nothing is going to happen.
Stage two, we say something may be about to happen, but we should do nothing about it.
Stage three, we say that maybe we should do something about it, but there's nothing we can do.
Stage four, we say maybe there was something we could have done, but it's too late now.
