There is no official 1.2 patch on the SEGA site, there is only 1.1. The 1.2 patch currently available is an unofficial version and can be downloaded via torrent, or found on filefront where several people have uploaded it.

how do you verify that i have 1.2 installed? when i was installing it said 1.2, however, when i look at the version in MTWII directory it says 1.1

Opening the options menu should display the version number in the top right of the screen...however mine is a broked install so it might be different in one that works.
