    Default Mining income

    Hi everyone!

My first post to this forum, so let´s start with a newbie question: How to increase mining income?

When you look at the building descriptions, it says an ordinary mine should give 2000/turn and a mining center/deep mine/gold vein 5000/ turn. However, in city income statistics a mine gives 600 or 800 and a mining center 3000/ turn.

So, is there any way to increase it? Is it related to population?

    Default AW: Mining income

I'm also new, but i think I read that the income was lowered in 0.81 and the text isn't altered up to now.
If thats not the case, I want the answer for this question, too! ;)

The income on the cards doesn't match the actual income. A small mine gives you 300 per small vein and 600 per large vein. A mining centre gives you 750 for a small vein and 1500 for a large vein. Govenors can increase this by up to 50% with the right traits and ancillaries.

They did give more in 0.80, but certain factions like the Baktrians were too powerful with those numbers.

Certain provinces have multiple mine resources and give better incomes. The best settlements are Pella (three large veins, that's 4500 with a mining centre) and Dalmion (2 large and one small vein).

Mine income is related to resource cost (don't remember the file) and mining value (set in EDB). text in building card is automatic and set to show mine income for resource cost from RTW.
As we changed this value it's showing wrong (too high) numbers.

    Short answer: RTW bug.

If you want to know the actual income from mining, look at the settlement details window.

Yes, i'm glad the minning income is down, I remmeber in 0.80 I was making 29000 a turn out of Pella in minning alone, totatling at an income of round about 40,000 per turn. (that was with a govenor that gave +85% minning income though)

85% must be awesome, I'm already pretty happy with the 20% of my Superior Miner administrator..

Thanks everyone! I´m playing v. 0.81, should have mentioned that...

I assume governor´s effect is related to his managment skills not influence?

This is interesting, as a newbie I haven´t payed much attention to traits etc., only command skills of the generals. It is time to do some research..

I think I´ll return to my Baktrian campaign and send a good governor to Patala to see how much he can increase the income from the gold mine there.

Management will increase economic output, whereas influence improves public order and (presumably) helps with negotiation.

So is there any way to tell if a vein is big or small before building a mine?

RTW, 167 BC: Rome expels Greek philosophers after the Lex Fannia law is passed. This bans the effete and nasty Greek practice of 'philosophy' in favour of more manly, properly Roman pursuits that don't involve quite so much thinking.

Moving the cursor over the vein in the stratmap also brings up a box with text that tells which one it is.
"Let us remember that there are multiple theories of Intelligent Design. I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."
