    Default Most/least aesthetically attractive kingdom/caliphate/sultanate/khanate/empire?

Not a very serious topic I know, just though it was worth discussing.

Most attractive I say is holding Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Wallachia, Greece, Constantinople, Nicaea, Trebizon, Anatolia, Lesser Armenia, Rum and Armenia as either the Byzantines or the Seljuks/Ottomans. Second would be the British Isles as the English.

Least attractive must be holding Poland (Greater Poland and Lesser Poland for us XL:ers) and Moldavia as the Byzantines or Bohemians. Looks like a purple dildo

Unified Iberia either under the Almohads or one of the northern Christian kingdoms.

The Pyrinees make an easily defensible border, so you can turtle there and never fear of invasions or crusades. And you can strike either north by land, or sea, or east, to the Mediterranean.

The only problem is that to truly "lock down" Spain you need to own both Morocco, Navarre, and Aragon. Which means sçuikking two of the three existing factions

Also: Serbia, Hungary, Anatolia, and Trebizond make very nice chokepoints

I think what Innocentius meant was aesthetic value, not strategic In any case, I enjoyed the aspect of my HRE empire in a MedMod campaign. It stretched from Scandinavia down to Sicily and thus colorful Europe was divided in two parts, separated by a large chunk of void (at least against darker backgrounds)

Most: Sicilians, owning the Italian peninsula, along with North Africa, stretching from Morocco to Jerusalem.

Least: Anything with the HRE. The black color just ends up confusing me at times.

I find Sicilian gray to be more annoying. When I started playing I often blew up Sicilian fleets mistaking them for rebels, thus triggering all-out wars which I didn´t want at the moment.

Creating a Genoan superpower in the Mediterranean is also a good one. All the coastal provinces of the Levant, all of Northern Africa and Italy, all islands and then Serbia, Croatia, Greece, Constantinople, Nicaea, Lesser Armenia, Valencia and Aragon makes up for a real interesting looking empire. Of course you could add all coastal provinmces to that, but some of them (like Anatolia) go too far inland to be attractive. You could add Trebizond and the Crimea to that as well, making you a power in the Black Sea as well.

Hi all, first time poster here.
I find the royal purple of the byz the most aesthetically pleasing. The only trouble is that purple tends to clash with most of the other faction colors. (Purple and yellow? Barf).
So, if you are going for an "aesthetic conquest" with the Byz, best leave the Danes or HRE in place until the end. Better yet, wipe out everyone. Purple really is best all alone.
It would be interesting to play a game with aesthetic constraints, like only attacking complimentary colors or primary colors or colors that clash. What would that be like? If you are the HRE must you turtle, since black goes with everything?

Lol. That reminds me of the first time I had a look at a Euro coin. It was like: "What is that flagging ... ahem ... male tackle with a scrotum doing up there?"

Of course, if the Norwegians had decided not to be difficult, no one would never have noticed that Sweden and Finland have this slightly disturbing outline.

Speaking of the game... Elmo Orange everywhere is way cool. Danish white, too. My favourite colour is the Welsh green, though, so, in conjunction with the game, I'd have to say: anything involving a green Jutland while Hordaland is still white, so I can trade with it.

    Take yer pick.
