She had to balance on her walker as she pulled out a snub-nosed .38-caliber handgun.![]()

Good to see that she is taking responsibility for her own safety. There is to much of the "Hide in the corner and call the police!" mentality out there, it disgusts me.![]()

It sounds like she knows her way around a gun pretty well. If she can shoot out a vehicles tires and keep intruders at bay long enough for the police to arrive, I'd trust this 82-year-old woman with a gun over myself. Various gun advocates here have emphasized the importance of training and practice. I suspect Miss Ramey keeps her skills polished.

Police come after a crime is committed. They draw chalk lines around bodies...some times they arrive while the crime is in progress but not usually...And perps don't like to be in areas where people tend to fight back...

Also, I was shooting at a steel target competition today and one old fellow (at least 60 I'd wager) was using a .38 revolver and I think he did better than most of the guys there (guys who spend 700+ dollars on one handgun before they spend more to fine tune the trigger, and have specialized belts and holsters for this sort of competition).
So don't knock old people.

It doesnt take a genius to figure that out. Trade something essential for a little something temporary? Thats lunacy in almost any case you can descirbe. Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

How about "Give me Liberty or give me death" ?
Without liberty you have no security. Unless your in jail of course . Then you have lots of security and little liberty.
