    Default Runescape

Anyone else ever played this game?

I found myself going back to see what was new a while ago, and the leveling has gotten me addicted again. Quite the unsophisticated game, I know, apart from the economy, which some people actually study.

I won't go on for a while because of exams, but my user is illusionario if anyone wants to know.

Bleh, worst community on the internet (barring maybe YTMND and 4chan) made this 'game' unplayable.

It was a good game in the time I played it, its the only game were you grind alot and I got to a high level (level 95) Played it for over a year (actually a record to my games) Then my friend from RS (still friends with) suggested Guild wars, was getting a new computer soon (this computer) so I said sure lets go play it, played that for about a half year, went back to play RS for a bit then quit back to Guild wars for about six months or so.

Its were I got the username; Rilder

Its a good game, but like WoW, gets way to much bad rap.

Now I feel like playing EvE online again...

I play this game, I play it because I don't have the money to pay for all the big MMORPG's, this one's the cheapest to play. It does kind of get addicting after a while though.

It's a decent game, and fairly addictive. I'd agree with the earlier statement that the community killed it. For every one person who tries to do something good, such as run an organized clan, help newbs, or try to play the game, there are twenty people who are complete "noobs".

I was murdered by a bunch of people at a ghost house. A group of high leveled players attacked and killed me that was the last time I played.

I was just wondering how much money it costs each month to play other MMORPG's because as I said earlier I play runescape because it's cheap
and if there was another cheap game I would probably switch.

Guild Wars is the well known one without a monthly fee; you pay for the game and that's it.

WoW, Eve online, and in a year and a half Star Trek online are all 15 per month.

Guild wars is 50 Dollars Per game and each expansion (but you don't need the original to play the expansion) but has no montly fee.

Runescape is 5 dollars per month if you want "Members"

Voyage Century, Silkroad, Navy Field and a couple other mmos are free to play but you can buy ingame stuff and bonuses for real money.

Roma-Victor costs like 30-40 dollars to buy and is free to play for the rest of your life but you can buy ingame money with real life money sometimes, and its just ingame money you can buy.

So, for Guild Wars I buy it at a shop and then its free?
And are those American dollars? If they are can someone tell me roughly what they are in NZ dollars?

Yep, Guild Wars has no subscriptions but it is not like all of the other MMORPGs and instead place more emphasis on instances

Also, it was $50 at first, but now I think you can buy a pack thing with Guild Wars and some of the expansions cheaper than if you bought them individually

RV doesn't need you to pay over the internet? My interest in that game has just skyrocketed if that's the case.

Kingdom of Loathing or Cybernations eats it for breakfast on both gameplay and community. YTMND is at least funny.

Runescape has nothing going for it - bad graphics, boring gameplay, ridiculous level grind, significant pay-for content, lots of n00bs.

Rilder: is the map huge? Or is it Europe condensed massively into some mini-cities and villages?

well tbh thats pretty much the same with most games. The stuff you get out of it is fun.

+ runescape gives you map reading skills
    + cooking skills
+ Chemistry skillzors (just as long as you dont forget that rune, mith etc are fictional
    etc.

    runescape ftw!

I didn't get pked, I found out that a fight with a demon during a quest was a timed fight and I couldn't kill it within the time so I ended up losing, like, 300 arrows and alot a lobsters. They should have said it was timed before I waste all my stuff on it!

You're supposed to graduate from chickens after 1 hour at the most. Supposed to go to cows or something, then kill humans.
