    Default Day of Defeat: Source

Anyone play this multiplayer FPS based on the 1944 war?
I just bought it today, and I am waiting to finish the exams to kick some butts, with the Wehrmacht.

Anyone willing to play with me?

I'd be more than willing to give you a good stomping, but I had to uninstall the game to make room for the original Baldur's Gate again..heh.

Yeah I play it. In a clan too.

Unfortunately it isn't as good as Pre-Source. But it is still good.

Its a pretty solid game in fact just finished playing it now. The maps are fun, the objectve things make it more interesting than CSS. With new updates coming the game should be even better, including new modes of play. However i would say it lacks a decent British skin damn it i just dont like fighting as the americans.

The Tommy gun is king frankly, which is very sad as the KAR used to be King and Queen.

The tommy gun has the tendancy to get a random heashot from any distance and the M1 gerrand is just diabolical unless you have some real skill with it.

Good game although you coudl argue it's lacking in maps and shoudl have a few more. But other than that it's a good solid game.

Yeah, they took a year longer than CS and came out with only 4 maps and Anzio is always wanted rid off each new version they made for beta.

First of all, you can create new maps, so that's not a problem.

Why don't we create a DoD: Source Org Clan?

There are currently 5 maps now, instead of the 4 that came out in (October was it?) But, 2 more maps are comming out in the start of July.
There are a few custom maps that are good, Argentan is best

I have issues with the rifles in it, they are pointless. The Garand especially, it takes two hits to kill usually and isn't especially accurate or fast firing.

Seeing as the Tommy gun fires so much faster and is as accurate...

What about distance? Is it mainly close range combat? The Tommy Gun should be short range, whereas rifles should shine over range.

I was thinking of getting DoD this weekend, but perhaps going to save my money for something else (beer for example).

The rifle is king on the latest map, Argentan, since it's much wider than the others. When I first started to play Source, I had trouble converting to the tommy/mp40 because I had previously been lord of both the MG34 and the Kar98/Lee Enfield. After a while, I got used to the tommy, but then gradually relearned to use rifles again.

I still want the British/Canadian troops back, though.

    I installed DoD: Source.
    I can play from tommorrow.

Anyhow, although there are 4 maps, we can surely expect an expansion pack, plus there are many mods out there.

Ok, as first impression, I like it.
Everything lookin good and it's really nice, but I hate the limited number of maps. That's all.

By the way, my Xfire is edyzmedieval.
I'll create an Org Clan Server, so look for it.

How does DOD:Source compare to the original for Half-life 1? DoD is pretty much the only game I play online anymore and frankly the only reason I would buy HL2. Haven't purchased it yet because my comp can't really run it but I am getting my long overdue upgrade soon.

Also edyzmedieval I would love to join the clan once I get the new DoD, might even be a month or two till I get it but whatever. I am not the greatest and I tend to use the MG42 mostly. When I'm not playing drunk I am usually among the top 5 in the server unless Im playing against some clan or crazy good guys.
