Thread: M2TW capital calculator

  1. #1

    Default M2TW capital calculator

Is there a program that calculates the best location for the capital? There was one for RTW: http://www.ravenousbugblatterbeast.p...uk/bestcap.htm

If you are referring to this post: http://shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic...alculator.html

then it appears to be the same calculator for RTW I linked to in my original post. Doesn't look like there is one for M2TW.

I'll have some free time next week and can try to make one if anyone is interested.

Would be fairly useless in my opinion. You can just move your capital around and see what happens, it doesn't have penalties.
Anyways how would you determine the best capital? Would unrest be more important or money, would you factor in merchants (very hard)?
In my opinion it's a wasted effort, but if you still want to do it I wish you the best of luck

    It's not useless for me.

It will tell me what penalty I will incur when capturing a settlement, without having to do the math myself. This will also be faster, in comparison to moving the capital around, and arriving at a conclusion through trial.

Lastly it's just one of those tools, with a coolness factor.

I always thought the TW community was VERY unimaginative when it came to tools, when compared with the likes of the EVE Online community of the America's Army community.

I'm really glad to see creative ideas like this !

Alpaca has a point though. M2TW is a very different game.
In RTW your main concern was unrest, as that was the dominant factor in that game.
In M2TW there are a number of things that differ:
    • Civil unrest is a lot less than in RTW, making it possible to effectively suppress it in outlying provinces using the right buildings and a large garrison.
    • Merchant income actually increases with distance to capital, i.e. an opposite effect to the unrest factor.
