In all warfare, speed is the key!
Hi,
I suppose it is quite fun - I tried it once - many AI flaws, such as the AI running it's army to exhaustion, are removed which improves the battle. However, it does make every battle so critical as units cannot escape to fight another day. It also ends many tactical prospects that one could use with the mode off. Although arcade mode is Ok, it just isn't as magnificent as a genuine "realistic" battle.
Dawn is nature's way of telling you to go back to bed
Its fun for VH Custom Battles I find, mad stuff![]()

Myself, I've never played on arcade mode - and probably never will. That's just me however.
I tried it once. I liked the idea of not running out of arrows.
On the other hand, the battle starts immediately with no opportunity to deploy what you want where you want it. In other words, archers stand uselessly on the street while the enemy army marches around the corner of the wall, where normally I can whittle the enemy army down by 20%. Also, while the battle is going on, you have to march your units to where they will be useful. You cannot position them to the formations you wish before "start battle" is implemented.
I'll stick with the timer, and remount and reload between turns.

No arcade for me. I prefer it if the enemy (Egyptians :) run out of arrows. If you don't, you have wasted that unit of peasants you sent to go and eat the missiles.
S-U-C-E-S! That's the way you spell... suces?
