Interesting, though it doesn't surprise me. Naval invasions in ALEX are not completely absent, just not very frequent, like in RTW.

Deffinately. It is what I would do, anyway. Playing as mighty Makedonia myself too and I'm planning on taking roughly the same path of conquest as you. Crawl up the spine of Italia from Sikelia (naval invade Syrakousai), then pincer them from the north through Illyria with another army. When you have crushed them, go either just from the shorelines of moden day France, or double that with another naval-invading army.

funny the luso did so well in this game as they pushed both the romans AND carthies despite me pumping crazy loads of cash to the rebels almost every turn in the game.

In my opinion, Alex.exe gives us the most accurate naval invasions. If you think of it, how many large scale naval invasions in the time span of EB can you really think of?

Ehm, BI gives us the same invasions (2-3 units at a time, at the beggining of the game that is) though even more frequent. Though the only thing I hear is complains about it...
