Where's my darn cannon towers?!?!?!

I was under siege by Milan in my Citadel with a small garrison. I had a few bombards, but the Milanese had about 10 pieces of siege equipment. I was counting on my cannon towers to help rip up their siege equipment.

Nothing.

My towers did absolutely nothing. So, I tried to lure them closer, and a unit of crossbows fell for the bait. What did the towers shoot at them? Ballista bolts.

I definately have cannon towers for my citadel. What's the problem?

Also, on a side note, huge walls for cities seem to fire cannons from the towers regardless of the tower upgrade. Strange...

They are broken. Cannon towers fire ballistas, and ballistas fire cannon balls in big cities/castles. Theres a fix around somewhere that sorts it, i think its just the walls.txt file thats broken

That is utter strangeness. As a side note, I think my huge city with cannon towers still fire cannons...

To get cannon towers, build ballista towers once your city gets to the hugh size.

Leaked 1.2 doesn't have a fix, but Caliban has said that official 1.2 will have a fix for this.

There is a file on the link. Would expect a comparison would be the place to start. May find they (1.0 and 1.2) use the same file. Will have to get home to look so do not take my word. SadCat

I'll look around tonight when I get home. I used to have a program that would read in two text files, one as "Origin" and one as "Current". It would then hilight where the two are different in the "Current" version and was intended for you to make updates to the "Current" version.

Pretty handy, but it had some wierd traits, such as you having to put in blank lines into the "Current" when you'd intentionally removed stuff so it didn't show EVERYTHING after as being changed.

No, I'm using 1.1 until the actual patch comes out. I'm just trying to fix some blatant problems in the meantime. Hopefully it will be released by the time I finish my Russian campaign or, better yet, when I finish my global jihad as the Moors
