I remember mentioning this previously in one of the threads, but I don't know if it has been reported as a bug. I tested it quite a few times with 1HP cavalry, and in my experience it always happens like this.

I still cant seem to manage even a half decent charge.....

If they move even the slightest, then my line of cav will shift slightly and mess it all up. And the few times I do get the charge off, half the knights at most would actually charge.

I watched the AI charge a unit today, domolish it..... Then immidiatly charged left into a unit having the same impact. (Completely broke the middle of my line)

I lost 800 men and killed 600 of his, BARELY pulling off a win. (This was the second full stack I threw at them)

Between two generals and a some border horses, they gave me hell.

PS. One thing I did find out, after you charge and pull back and try to charge again, they always still have there swords pulled out. click and press backspace for them to pull out lances.

Even with the 2HP it does'nt matter. You can kill generals cavalry vs cavalry in a charge.

I've done it many times, but as I mentioned I always try to impact the unit leader's/ general side. Maybe that's what making the difference.

Speaking of which, is it just me, or do captains/generals seem to be extremely fragile in M2TW? If you can pull of a good cav charge on the general's corner of the unit you are aiming at, unless he's got something like 23420934092 HP, he's going to die in short order. I don't remember this happening at all in the other games...

ROFL !! Well I just started an Egyptian campaign yesterday and the Mongols arrived last night. Same thing, the Mongol general was Dread +8 or so, I ran around with my General and Mamluks around the back, charged the Mamluks and reared with my general.

KIA on impact, from the rear.

Yes my general died too ofc, in the ensuing battle, and so did +-700 other Egyptians, but so did a +-1025Mongols. I think the Mongol general had +6 Experience, while mine was a green (zero exp) 22 year old.

I'd say I was lucky though, it seems to me experience makes a difference.

Then again SOOOOO MANY times I've had to chase a routing general ALL OVER THE MAP, even though he was surrounded by 10 units he still got away, AND he was green.

BTW, how does the charge work with the general himself? As I observed, he doesn't have a lance, only a sword. Does this affect his kills in the charge?
