Just a little i find amusing

I have noticed that after I been playing MTW Vanilla for a long time the AI does a Silly thing (Oh No Not Another One) So I am playing as whatever faction I decide to and I am contentedly building my tech empire So I decide to take a peak At my neighbour and They have stacks and stacks of troops But I beging to notice A strange thing... all though the AI has like 5 to 1 ratio against me the AI is building a horde Of peasents and SPearmen with One or 2 units of FMAA even though its now 1201, whats that about? I do find it midly annoying that I have to invade and destroy these patheticly oversized armies Just so the AI has enough Money to Build units that will actually give a game rahter than A slaughter, I know this game is old and no more patches will be relaesed but will someone fix the game so the AI acutaully disband out of date Units AND so rivers of blood shall flow.... I have no real idea what I want to accomplish out of this post but if anyone has anything to add. feel free!

P.s One other thing, Is it just me or are re-emergencies either Way to weak Or riduclusly over powered?

That's hardcoded. The AI never disbands any unit. The only known way to work around is to restrict the AI's access to truly crappy units like peasants. The XL mod did this to a certain extent, MedMod far more. But I'm afraid there's no really good way to stop the AI from ruining itself with cheap units.

Can't really comment on that. However the time of a reemergence also influences its standing on the map. E.g. if the French reappear in 1206 they will have many chivalric troops and pose a real threat due to technological superiority, whereas the same reemergence in 1204 will be considerably less dangerous because it will consist entirely of early units.

The game isn't perfect and peasants are one of those units that that the game is probably better off without. Most mods tend to remove peasants all together because the AI spams so many of them. The AI has a tendancy to spend everything it has and build huge stacks, there a different ways to approach this economic problem, and again it's a modding issue. Having certain low quality units go "out of date" at certain eras is one other way of combatting this problem. For example you could make vanilla spearmen only available in early, guaranteeing that no more are built once the high period starts. Also the building training influences can be altered to encourage the AI to build different units. This is rather a balancing act however.

That is true, though I believe that can be fine tuned somewhat through the rebelling troop mixes. The same stats that cause those rebellions consisting of a single trebuchet.

If you're playing someone in Western Europe, one way to fix everything in a hurry is to spam out land crusades. Aim them carefully and roll up everyone's peasants, then toss the poor things on auto-resolve at whoever is being the most annoying. :p

And they can pull some surprises too. Recently, I managed to gather about 4800 peasantry, militia, vanilla archers and feudals that I'd collected from random petty crusades and managed all up to kill about 5300 Mongols including their castle assault. Crusades will keep your borders safer in the short term and can actually keep the comps interesting in the medium term.

off topic sorry but HOw do you change the troop rebelling stats? or where are they located at least. I am a new addition to fine tuning On MTW cheers

This is hidden away in the unit_prod.txt file which you can edit using the Gnome editor (available via the downloads sections).

Another option to clean up the enemy armies is to load the game using -ian (ie on your desktop icon, add -ian to the end of the "Target" entry in the shortcut properties). This will allow you to switch between factions (shift1 - 0, ctrl1 - 0 gives you access to the first 20 factions), and as a non-AI player, you CAN disband troops (and maybe start some good ones in training

). Then return to your original faction, and continue the campaign to fight re-invigorated AI armies. Only works if your original faction is one of the first twenty, otherwise you can't get back!
