I have difficulties in writing in English

I belong a group(a little group) that this translating the Europa Barbarum for portuguese(brazilian)

we have a lot of work but we already translated 50% or more(v0.8a)

Very cool. I'm interested in how you will handle updates though. If we update export_buildings.txt for example, how will you update your versions? I would guess that one might compare the original 0.81a file with whatever the next build's file is, the english versions of both, then you could see where the changes were and then make those changes in hte portugese version, but you'd have to be careful to get all of them so no ctd's or anything occur.

Very happy to see the effort, just hope you have plans for how to handle updates.

We have one brazilian team member who is active and we have had one other. Brazilians make great trait specialists by the way it seems!

About New Versions:


This is a point where we will need help

we will continue to translate the new versions but we need more detalis about the text files(what exactly it was modified)
in my tests whem a line of text file is changed or deleted the engine doesn't open the game(theres no CTD in the middle of game)

What type of modifications are foreseen in the next versions?

hello to my old brother-at-arms of the Brazilian EB Translation Legion!!!

we are a brave (but small) legion of five soldiers, fighting against the little time we have to translate thousands of lines of english texts!!!

why we do that?!? for money? nooo!!! for womans ?!? noooo!!! (but money and womans are good stuff, no doubt)

we do it "because we are a band of brothers, dedicated to the warriors cause..."
yes, i think this is one above come from a general´s speech of a Roman Army in the RTW game... but let´s forget it by now!!

well, i am here just to introduce myself like another member of the translation group. and to write a little in english, bad poor english, like you can see. but i learn it almost all alone, with the dictionay book, playing RPG´s and strategy games like ROME. nobody type DRAGON, SWORD, MAGIC like me, you can beat it!!!!

I'll bet with you my account that the majority of the translated text will be in "americanized brazillian". Like "randomico" (from english random) insted of "aleatório". Kinda pisses me of when brazilian peeps don't just change the original word, they totally change it to something else. No idea why they do that.

I could help, but my way of writing is probably different than yours. Some things here and there would be different as portuguese and brazilian portuguese can be a bit different and odd sometimes.

I wouldn't mind translating the Lusotannan faction. Just email the text you want translated. I'm getting kinda good at translating english to portuguese. I've translated the whole story of the three punic wars from english to portuguese; that's more than 10 pages of size 8 arial text.
