    Default Shield Wall not working

    Hi,

I'm playing with Sweboz and can't get the shield wall to function. For instance, I'm using a Heruskoz unit which clearly has the shieldwall capability (says so in the info) and I can't get them to do it. Same thing goes for a couple of other units.

Is this intentional or a bug? Please respond. Thanks.

The Shield Wall only works in BI, and this is an RTW mod. We don't have the shield wall ability for any of our troops.

Don't these units adopt a very thight formation when you press the loose/close button? Or was that in a previous build?

Some do, I don't know if it is those ones in particular though.

Why does the troop info for some units say that they can perform the shield wall then?

And as far as I remember, regular RTW units could do the shield wall (some of course, not all).

Nope, standard R:TW did not include a shieldwall. The description refers to an extra tight formation they adopt when you press the close/loose formation button (C).

    *looks up EDU*
Ah, so that's how it worked. Now I get it. Pretty darn clever actually. There should be an explanation somewhere, though, IMO. Maybe a small footnote at the end of the unit info text or something similar.

...now I'm seriously wondering if I should do my minimod all over again... darn...

I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

Hmm, I could swear I used the shield wall in regular RTW but I'm sure you know better.

Perhaps it was in Rome Total Realism. Did they have it?
