Beginner Question

Hiya i'm new to the mod and it makes me smile to see the improvements made it is a great deal more realistic, comindations all round :P. However i was wondering if there was any given faction you'd recommend for a beginner like me?

My knowlage of History is mainly Medevil/Dark Age so i have no preferance based on history (though i am mad about it) I was thinking either "Barbarian" or "Roman"???

The Romani are fairly easy to begin with, so you shouldn't have any problems. Ptolemaioi (Egyptians) are -imo- also an easy startfaction. Most factions have troubling starting positions, but all are fun. I'd say, read something on the fora and the descriptions and then make a pick (though I wouldn't advise any of the smaller kingdoms around the Arche Seleukia)

I'd recommend something like Baktria or Ptolemies or Carthage - they aren't too difficult and you can make money without too much hand-wringing. Romans too really. Most barb factions either start in a fight or with few trade partners or in an isolated place, and can be fun to build up too, but take a little getting used to under EB's economic changes (since it's not so easy for them to support troops unless you are careful). Oh yeah - welcome aboard!

lol thanks :P i'll probably take Romani as my first run through, i have a Legion Fetish you see one question though Tactical are the easy, medium or hard to use and fight with :P i love a challenge especially in a fight

EB's recommended settings (settings for which it is optimised) are VH campaign and Medium battle difficulties.
I am also new to EB and started with the Romani... absolutely loving it. I am not an expert so i would say Romani is easy to start with...

Thans a lot i'll almost certainly start with Romani i'm thinking i might make an AAR out of it as i love telling stories but who knowth not I, however do you think it'd be worth me doing that??? Just a question of opinion.

You should probably start the AAR under the EB Gameplay Guides subforum and see whether someone likes it.
