Default Ordo Teutonicus; Ordo domus Sanctae Mariae Theutonicorum Ierosolimitanorum

Just noticed that the Teutonic Order will be included , allthough only as unplayable faction

But I can understand that, because the Order was founded quite late in 1190 and from 1197 on it became a military order and therefore it's ok that it is an unplayable faction only. (it would be very troublesome to make them playable according to their history, f.e. how to include it into the mod that they began in the Holy Land and were quite present there until 1291, in the meanwhile tried to establish themselves in eastern Germany with moderate success and in 1211 even in Hungary but were kicked out again in 1225. It was not before 1226 when their real success story began in Prussia, Livonia, and Estonia.

(For all Teutonic Order fans: vanilla Kingdoms add on will have a full playable Teutonic order campaign!)

so in case ur designers would be happy about some materials for the unit design I would like to post some nice images showing the Teutonic knights from their best side in shiny armor Otherwise forget about this post.

now something else: the Fratres miliciae Christi de Livonia was another German knight order, which only existed in Livonia, but they joined the Teutonic Order 1236 after a heavy defeat at Schaulen against the Lithuanians.

so here's an imgage about the early times, where the Livonian Brothers of the Sword in their own coat of arms fought side by side with the Teutonic Knights, just in case u care for such details in unit design and in case u would like to have a unique early time unit for them.

the ones with the red sword over white are the Brothers of the Sword

Brothers of the Sword symbol (red cross with sword) and the form of the cross

some Teutonic Knights banners and flags, which might be usefull. here's a link to site that has got all Komturia banners and Flags of the Teutonic Order http://www.allstates-flag.com/fotw/flags/de_to.html

the historic form of the black cross over white

good luck with this faction and I hope that u find these images helpful...
