I have been playing a Baktrian campaign and have got the Seleucids attacking two of my towns just about every turn. I have several times tried to arrange peace, but they are hellbent on ruining their army against my defences.
Anyway, since Baktria has limited resources, as opposed to Seleucids, I had to develop a strategy. Their main targets are Baktra and Alexandria-Ariane, which I took from them a while back. I have not had resources until now to field any large armies, and when the enemy is attacking several points and you can't really predict where the next attack is going to be, it can be a challenge to have enough troops there to ensure a victory. Therefore, I built a fort halfway between the cities, and armies can reach either town from that fort. I can now defend my towns with sufficient force without having to keep a large army in each town. When a unit has suffered losses, I just send it to the appropriate town for re-recruitment. On one turn I even had an 3 seleucid armies laying siege to all three locations. I started with the sally most likely to end in victory and when that battle was won, I sent some units frm there to reiforce the next battle.
The constant fighting is becoming tiresome, however.
