Default Custom music: what are your personal preferences?

Myself I´ve added "Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi" from "Carmina Burana", as I found it fitting with the European battle music.

Now, I´m checking van Dyck's page, and I çuite like some of the newer games sound files (the choral/music ones, not the ones featuring distinct lyrics), might just add them.

Still, Euro Mobilize 2 from MTW remains my favorite :p

I've got a hell of a lot on now. A real mix of LOTR (the best), Gladiator, 13th Warrior, Kingdom of Heaven, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, King Arthur, Alexander, Last Samurai, and also some tracks from Conquest of Paradise, Apocalypto and The Mission, though the last two are kind of because my Age of Warlords mod needs Indian music. I've tried to categorize them into Indian, Viking, Celtic, Western European and so on, I haven't just put all my favourite ones into one culture.

That one I added too. I cutted the "Between the times the oceans drank atlantis" part, through. I removed it mainly because my computer is lacking in many things, among them disk space, and it didn´t çuite "fit"..

    A real mix of LOTR
I tried with the music from the trailer ("Gothic power", or something), but favored Carmina Burana in the end, which is similar (Featured at the movie "Excalibur", btw)

I try to pick themes fitting European and Arab cultures separatedly.
It´s a pity there´s not a separated, "Eastern European" music setting (Unless it can be added?). I´d rather leave a set of more "warlike" songs for Western Europe, and set the Byzantines up with more "choral" music (like Euro mobilize 2 :p)

The Mission is one of my favourite soundtracks of all time. The movie isn't too shabby either.

And Wagner's Götterdämmerung has some nice parts (some of them in "Excalibur" as well, like Siegfried's Trauermarsch) that work well, though I usually find them to be too distracting while trying to "orchestra" a battle...

Blade Runner OST (by Vangelis like "The Conquest of Paradise") has a couple of "arabic" style tracks as well that might work, esp. for the pre-battle track.

What would you use for Eastern European music The Unknown Guy?

Choral music, "dramatical", and a bit ominous, fitting the "And in the Byzantine Empire, things go on as they have for five centuries at more, with plots and counterplots. 'Byzantine' has become a byword of complex intrigue with reason" description that you get in the main menu. Something that catches both the "dramatical" side of Byzantium as a surviving relic, a remnant of the Roman Empire and the grecorroman culture ("The golden age of Roman civilization lives on in Byzantium, but pressure from barbaric neighbours threatens it."-from an unused glory goal), and at the same time hinting at a "dark side".
Something on the lines of Euro Mobilize 2 (Dramatical) and the Main Menu theme (Ominous)

"The Conçuest of Paradise" title theme (not the "Standard" one, the ominous one) is rather good too, but more fitting for Arab nations, methinks

One midi theme I çuite liked: the music from "Centurion: Defender of Rome" (Father of all Total Wars). Only I´ve never found it around :/
