Default Has the surround and squish inquisitor exploit gone in 1.2?

Before the latest patch, one of the most effective ways to handle inquisitors was to surround them with an army and then move a unit on top of them. They could not move out the way and so would die.

Is that still possible in 1.2? I tried to move a military unit onto an inquisitor and got a red cross saying such action was invalid for that unit, so it I am wondering if the exploit has been fixed.

    Thanks for any advice.

No. I had one acting as if he was playing 1.02 (lol). He killed two generals ans then I decided to sent him home. Exploit still works for me.

It certainly still works for every other type of agent. I'm afraid I haven't tried it with Inquisitors in particular, but they'd be the exception, if they're immune.

I have to admit that I use this "exploit" not infrequently. I figure there are two ways to stop an enemy assassin; Stoop to my enemy's level and send out an assassin of my own, or send out a large number of soldiers to "scour the countryside", capture and execute the miscreant.

Only thing that makes it a bit of an exploit is that the AI won't do the same. Of course, if that's what makes something an exploit, then I guess we're all cheating by moving our armies in an intelligent and logical fashion, too! ^_^

Only time I use that exploit, is when a bunch of enemy assassins with 0-1 skill is hanging around trying to kill one of my big-guy generals with a dozen security boosts hanging around in a town with a couple of spies or more...

I just get tired of seeing them failing to kill him.

Well, this weekend the Mongols did squish my diplomat just north of Nicaea when he got stuck between two armies and the city...

*sees the diplomat coming back on his horse but sans head*

    "They said no."

Anything wrong ? Blame it on me. I'm the French.

It can happen in MTW, you know. Not very frequently, but I had a few diplomats who ended up dead after a request.

God you're right ! Now I remember those "the Sultan was most displeased" infocards, I had clean forgotten about that. That and getting the opportunity to burn the Pope as a heretic :). Good times...
