Default AW: Play any fighting games?

Sometimes I play Tekken at a friend's place. I don't know which one it is, they all look alike. Those friends and places I mean, heh heh, not the game :)

Nah, Tekken is fun if it's about pulling off moves and such. I prefer playing against the CPU 'cause some guys are so damn cheap when they fight. And what's really bad about Tekken -- at least I think so -- it's those annoying visual effects when you hit the opponent. I prefer to see sweat or sum' to make it look less cheesy. And occasionally realistic blood if the battle goes on long enough (they should increase the life bar).

The one-liners are also cheap. They should be taken out. And no weapons. You probably know that move by that.... guy with the sword. Ridiculous.

And no non-human beings in the game.

    I'm ranting again, ain't I?

I play Soul Calibur II, Mortal Kombat Armageddon, and Marvel Nemesis.
I am mainly a Raphael player on SCII and I play Scorpion in MKA, although, it must be granted, I suck at Mortal Kombat.

I used to play Street Fighter II and Marvel vs Capcom religiously. I'm thankful that SFII Hyper is now available for download on Xbox Live Arcade

which Tekken? people are cheap if your skill at Tekken isnt great. no offense.
yea i agree on visual effects but if you want weapons, play Soul Caliber.

Tekken 6 looks like it improves those visual effects much more realistically. (on PS3)

    @Monarch there's a Jack-5 in Tekken 5/Dark Ressurection

Does Raw vs Smackdown count? Its sure a great game. I play it on my brothers 360 all the time. Incedible graphics. In facts its better than real wrestling. You can set up all your dream matches and let the PC run the whole show. No pre programmed winners . You have no idea who will win. Definetly the best wrestling game Ive ever played. You actually have control over your moves.

It's been ages since I played that game! Ah, the memories! It was on my good old Sega Megadrive I believe. A 16-bit console, with games on cartridges.

Oh my, oh my, I think I still have that console and my old games. Must be somewhere on the attic in my parents' home.

I used to play the old 2D games (street fighter II, mortalcombat 1-3 ).

The only 3D fighting game I've played and really liked was Soul Ege (ps1) though i haven't tried the sequel yet. 3D games tend to feel slow and not as responsive when it comes to controls I feel.

Heh heh :) I've often beaten this guy at it, even with my basic Tekken skill (I used to play it on GBA and the controls are roughly the same, just need to adapt, get used to it a bit, and improvise). I make many false moves (ie. I go forward quickly to lure him out, etc.) and then strike him with some move (or grab) if there's an opening. And for some reason I play better if I control a woman character.

But sometimes people are just cheap and all they do is button-mashing, constantly making the same attack moves and stuff, instead of playing... "normally" :)
I usually let people get up even if I've struck them down. Makes for a better game if y'ask me. It's like saying: "C'mon c'mon. I ain't cheap, but maybe YOU are!"

    Ooo, they were good :)

I liked MK more than SF, though. SF looked like too much of the same to me and kind of jerky imo, while MK was just... I don't know, more fun to play and smoother.

Try it online. Beating the computer is easy. Or get 4 people in your house and have a tag match. If your all good it gets real exciting.

Marvel vs Capcom was an absolutely amazing fighter. I wouldn't want to guess how many quarters I sank into it back when it was an arcade exclusive. It was also pretty much the main reason why I eventually bought a Dreamcast.

So many cheap combos but skillful ones as well!

Quite a few bouts of Dead or Alive Ultimate and Super Smash Bros. going on around here. I enjoy the latter a lot more than DOA.

I wish I had a Dreamcast. NiGHTS Into Dreams and X-mas NiGHTS was the best thing since sliced bread. :(

That would be great if I didn't sell my Wii for the vastly superior 360.
