    Default What year is it?

This might be a stupid question but on several occasions I've wanted to check the date when playing MTW2, but I can't find it anywhere. The turn number is mentioned but not the date.

Is there anyway of finding out without saving and reloading the game?

Take a peek at the faction summary scroll the date is listed in the left-hand column at the bottom...

    Its in the FAQ:

Q: How do I get the game to display years in stead of turns?
A: Delete the line "show_dates_as_turns" line in descr_strat.txt.

No idea whatsover if this will work on an existing game or only newly started ones.

The descr_strat file is only ever read at the beginning of a campaign, so any changes there require a new campaign.

To edit it for an ongoing game, you'll have to download MedManager, a small program allowing you to edit a couple of things in your savegames, including this.
Still maintain that crying on the pitch should warrant a 3 match ban

Doh! The number of times I've looked at that screen and only noticed the Turn Number

In fact, I only spotted it this time after taking a second look. So, basically the only thing missing is the season but I'm not usually too bothered about that.

Well you should be able to figure out what season it is by whether northern europe is covered in snow or not.

Does the season change depending on the year sometimes ive noticed two seasons of snow or is long exposure to Medieval driving me insane?

Sorry but I think you've indulged on Medieval too long... Summer and Winter succeed normally only each last two years at a time in Vanilla...
