    Not only do you not need 1.1, installing 1.2 over a 1.1 game usually results in a corrupted/buggy installation. You should just install 1.2 over a fresh installation.

    More precisely, you need to NOT have a patched 1.1 game to go to 1.2, you need to start with bare 1.0 and then patch directly to 1.2.
