Thanks for the kind words. I enjoy miniature gaming. But I am really enjoying EB/RTW right now. No tactile enjoyment (pushing around the lead units on the table), but certainly the sounds/visuals are much enhanced. Plus, you can play the AI and don't have to wait for an opponent (human).

    David

From one newbie (to RTW/EB anyways) welcome aboard, and let me add my praise to the rest for your excellent brush work.

I dipped my toe into miniatures gaming but just don't have the space or time anymore.

Thank Jupiter for Creative Assembly products!

I am new for Europa Barbarorum and have some question seeking an answer.
I take the initial request in this thread from David Smith who asked:
"1.It Appears as if the advisor toggle on the screens do not work. I follow the Instructions Each time I fire up a saved game (clicking on a city, enabling the advisor and help text). Am I doing something wrong. "
After following the instructions, clicking on "show me how and advisor disappears.
You say that it's okay, it means that he is working ...
uhmmm, OK, but what kind of work he does if not reappear throughout the game never to give me some advice ...?
In other words how can I ask the advisor to give me advices that I expect from him, being activated at the beginning of the game a high frequency of its interventions? He seems to me a "fugitive advisor"...
2 - What does they mean AARs?
3 - How can I command the unit to get on a mobile siege tower. All the units seem very reluctant to rise and so waste time and my men are decimated by archers on the walls ... All kind of infantry unit can raise on the tower or no ?
Thanks for the time and I wish all a Happy New Year!

    1) In EB the advisor is used for scripted events (and starting the script) alone: I think they disabled normal advice. The normal advice isn't relevant to someone familiar with R:TW, anyway.

    2) AAR means after-action report: a write-up of how your battle/campaign went.

    3) All infantry infantry is capable of using siege towers, but the towers don't always work for some reason. It's a bug of R:TW, not EB.

Welcome to the .Org and to EB, and happy new year .

    Thanks Ludens.
So the advisor is practically useless in EB ...
So you can not get advice, for example, on what buildings to construct, as in RTW, etc.
Furthermore, I had a couple of questions.
    1) - Playing with the Romans during the battle I hear speak in the Latin language. But what I hear is a terrible pronunciation that makes one shiver (bad accents, harsh and guttural tones that make it incomprehensible every word, etc.). So I ask if and where I can find the text files (not the audio files, the ones I've seen where they are) so I can eventually replace them with other similar but recorded with my voice (of course only for personal use).
    2) - Similarly, I would like to replace with more understandable words (in Italian which is my native language) the names of some units of barbarian factions - while appreciating the effort of historical research and realism - are for me really unreadable and so difficult to identify. Is it possible?

Thank you so much for the moment.

    A greeting from Mensonchino

It's been a while since I modded R:TW, so I cannot help you other than to say that both are fairly easy to do provided you know which file to edit. Search our modding forums for more details.
