query- mtw2 with vista and dellxps m1710
I'm seriously considering upgrading to a dell xps m1710 and wonder about its performance with MTW2 and expansion forthcoming.
I believe that I should go with windows xp rather than vista at present, at least 2 gb memory and 512 go 7950gtx card.
Any thoughts/advice please.

If the system is being built for gaming, my advice is to avoid vista.
I don't see any reason to get the 7950, though - it's out of date and expesive to boot.
I'd think that an 8800gts would do fine...

Lordy lordy!
Seems like a lot of money for a laptop with bugger all upgrading potential.
Why not spend £400 on a laptop for whatever you need the laptop for (work I'm guessing), and then spend the other cash to build a decent PC?
It always seems a waste of money to me, buying a laptop for gaming.
I have a company laptop for work so it's not an issue. But if I needed to buy one (with my own cash) for work it would be a very different machine from what I would use at home.
You could buy a decent desktop with good upgrading potential for half that price. Shit man, I spent £250 upgrading my desktop for MT2W and for another £200 it would have eaten that laptop alive (when I say upgraded, I swapped everything including the case except the hard drive).
