1.why arent the croats a faction in m2tw
According to wikipedia, Croatia was in a personal union (i.e. they have the same rulers) with Hungary from 1102 to 1526, which is most of the game. This might explain why Hungary can get Croat Axemen.

    2.Who was their first king
    Tomislav I

In the early period, probably; for until 1102 they had their own, seperate kingdom, which came under personal union with the Kingdom of Hungary in 1102 because of marriage politics (the King of Hungary was heir to the last King of Croatia) typical of the age.

Because they were, thusly, dominated by Magyar (Hungarian) lords for most of M2TW's timespan, they were not created as a seperate faction, instead represented by a local rebel faction to make it clear that they were an independent, if not major faction.

As for going there... no, but I've heard it's quite beautiful, especially along the coast.

ive been. beautiful country, particularly the islands. i actually met goran there just after he won wimbledon! diocletians palace in split is cool as well.

unfortunately many of the people are savages. one time i was there my friend and i were attacked and my friend was beaten so savagely that he was left with a hole right through his upper lip. i have heard may similar stories.

i suspect it may be because a large percentage of men in croatia in their earlly 30's will have already killed someone in the wars.
