Heard about this (from MoveOn), CBS fired General Batiste who was a military consultant for them and it raised my curiosity. CBS reasoned it was because Batiste appeared in a political commercial. Well, actually it was a vetsforpeace or some such thing - and it wasn'political. Unless of course one views any negativity about our glorious war as being political. Which isn't a bad arguement, but then again they must have known his feelings towards the war before hiring him.

hmmmmm, this one was suppose to show the April 2006 intervies with Lehrer and Batiste .... never can get PBS links to work - must be me. Sorry.
It doesn't seem to bother CBS that they have more than a few former Whitehouse consultants (that now do so for them) that are still involved directly with partisan politics. Like Nicolle Wallace, a former WH communications director that is now one of their political consultants. Nicolle is also an advisor to McCain, and even appeared on CBS to promote his candidacy while in their employ. Then there is Mike O'Hanlon, he appeared as a consultant while advocating Bush's escalation plan.
Oh, well. I stopped watching CBS when Katie took over as anchor (they been sinking ever since). Just another example of media hypocracy, I suppose.
