i have done all of this do i really not need to install 1.1

Well, for me, uninstalling and reinstalling, patching to 1.1 and than to 1.2 seemed to work fine, but to other people this resulted in serious trouble. Uninstalling, reinstalling and immediately patching to 1.2 solved their problem.

I hope this works for you as well, if not, open a new thread in the Apothecary, the regulars there are more likely to find a solution for your problem. My knowledge on such matters is rather limited
