    Default Formatted battle_models.modeldb

If this question has already been asked and answered a dozen times, feel free to lynch me.

I'm using patch 1.2 and I want to edit the battle_models.modeldb. I've formatted it (from a fresh 1.2 install) with this python script. When I try to start Medieval 2 with the formatted but uneditted database, I simply get a black screen with a white standard cursor.

    Is there any solution?

    Thanks in advance.

    @Radnor_Lodbrok
Hi I'm still on the 1.1 patch because I'm in the middle
of some animation stuff that I don't want to stop working.
I think either zxiang1983 or Hans Kloss has used my
formatting script to get a new formatted battle_models.modeldb
file for the 1.2 patch but there was one issue with a
unit, venetian something or other. I know I read about this
last week but can't find the thread. It's over at the twcenter
either under tutorials or skinning (the mesh converter thread).
Search for the user name Hans Kloss, I think he made a new formatted
file for 1.2 using the Python script and fixed the entries.

Could you post back if you find it, I'm too under the gun to
redo it right now but I want to upgrade soon as well.

    Thanks.

If you install the 1.2 patch, then unpack all the files you'll get a battlemodel file that is compatable with the 1.2 patch. Just format that and you'll have a formated 1.2 battlemodel file.

Ah, many thanks. There's no problem with the Venetian Heavy Infantry and the
armor upgrades problem? This is what my faulty memory was telling me about
the modeldb file from the 1.2 threads.
