From the preview screenshots it would seem that the MTW map will have the same no. of provinces, very roughly, as STW. My point is that Japan is much much smaller than the MTW area. Isn't it going to seem a bit weird to be able to take all of France, say, by grabbing just 6 or 7 provinces? Aren't crusades going to seem a bit short when there's only a couple of provinces involved? Too late now, of course, but questions worth asking, imo.

yer, even in STW we have 8 clans (including ronin) who fight for a province, meanwhile we have 13(incl. ronin) faction in MTW.

the provinces in MTW should increase by 50% or more or less but absolutely more than STW provinces.

Well in Shogun I think there were about 60 provinces but In MTW there will be around 100 I think has been said. Better wait for Kuma to clarify that though.

Actually I won't worry about the number of the provinces.

It's the number of the factions that's going to be a big problem.

If there are, say 13 factions, then after you eliminated 2-3 factions, you become unstopable.

This would seriously damage the game play.

Yes, there are a few provinces but in contrast to Shogun, Medieval will have maps for every border battle. So a province like Shinano would have 10 Maps to attack on, depending from what province you launch an attack.

I guess that with this in mind there are enough provinces to go around.

i heard they made 400 maps. that should approx mean that there are 100 provinces. right?

there going to be more than 13 factions because the ronin will no longer be under one heading there will be differing unplayable countries.

Well, I would assume that there will be more than 4 borders per province so that accounts for 60 provinces.

As to ronin - its going to be very much like MI, where ronin belong to different clans and be of different colour. Although depending on the territory the armies are going to vary.

OK, but even with different maps for each province you'll still have the whole area after winning just one battle, surely?

A lot of questions here, what i know from what i have read regarding SP:

-More or less 400 maps, including different maps depending from what country-border you attack from and maps with castles.
-DP is correct again (This is for your signature mate). I read about 100 countries-provinces also.
-Gothmog, you won't be unstopable if you eliminate 2-3 factions, i am sure that one or two other factions will be growing as fast or faster than you, depending if your playing normal or hard or demented or whatever.
-Hulegu, yes you'll still have the whole area after winning just one battle, but i get a feeling that keeping new conquests will be much more difficult than in STW or MI, i think that revolts, treachery by your generals or other political ploys, will play a much larger part in this game. Think of Machiavelli...

yes KUMA it seems that you will not be able too simply leave your old provinces unguarded as in shogun. about the maps DOM you have to consider that there are a lot of maps with a coastline they might have only 2 bordering provinces.

    EDIT: I AM A KENSAI
