    Default Anyone know of a mod that changes the following...

    Hi everyone.

    I'm looking for a mod that makes a few changes to the vanilla game, basically one that unlocks content already in the game, features I'm looking for are;

    - adds all units that are in the custom battles but not present in the campaign game to the campaign, so thats;
    -dismounted chivalric knights for france, sicily, denmark etc. etc.
    -dismounted French Archers for france
    -armoured sergeants for england
    -dismounted Imperial and Gothic Knights for HRE
    -and the rest of those units which are missing (too many to list)

    -adds hidden units such as the english mounted longbowmen (which are in the text files but not present anywhere in the game)
    -adds mercenary units which should be present on national lists to those lists as well as keeping the mercenary versions; such as adding landschnekt pikemen to HRE, Flemish Pikemen for France
    -creates mercenary versions of units which are currently national units only but historically had mercenary experience also; for example Genoese Crossbowmen, Rieters etc.
    -adds ribaults, mortars, arquebusiers and musketeers to factions which don't have them but should (any faction that gets arquebusiers should eventually get muskets IMO as they are a logical chronological progression)
    -adds recruitable early and late generals as per RTW:BI
    -allow more units to get to higher levels of armour over a period of time (why can't chivalric knights eventually get advanced plate?, for example)
    -gives appropriate units different voices; Scots Guard have Scottish accent, Latinkon and Christian Guard have Mediterranean etc.
    -make some mercenary units such as Flemish and Swiss Pikemen, Welsh Longbowmen and Spearmen, PAvise Crossbow Mercenaries and Irish Gallioach (sp?) available for a broader timespan and over a broader area (later on when Landschnekts arrive make them available of a broader area too) - vanilla doesn't reflect the fact that these troops sold their services for a long time over a wide range of europe.

    it sounds like alot but i think it can all be done with text editing, i've tried and failed, however. Is there a mod out there already that does these things? I don't mind if it does more as well (as long as its not crazy) I've read about The Long Road and Lands to Conquer but I'm not sure they make all these changes. I'm relatively happy with the vanilla game i just think the custom battle lists are nicer so it would be great to have them in the campaign.

    If anyone knows an easy way to do this if they could explain that it would be great too.

    edit: having just played a bit more vanilla I also thought of some more things that it would be cool to change;

    -i think that all 2h units (those affected by the 2h bug; norse axemen, varangian guard etc.) should use the halberdier/zweihander animation group to add a bit more to their combat (i get a bit sick of seeing people doing side flips all the time), this would also increase their combat speed as I think they are abit slow, and would solve the 2h bug aswell

    I've done most of your first list, but I didn't know that England gets armoured sergeants?

    Doing the first list is relatively easy and is done through the EDU (export_desc_unit) and the EDB (export_desc_building).

    Changing accents would be a lot more work.

    Your views on mercs is interesting and most likely do-able but isn't something that affects me too much so someone else will have to look into that bit.

    As for the 2h bug there's a fix that involves using animations from the demo.

    whenever i try and edit those files (EDU and EDB) it doesn't make any difference in game, is there something else I have to do to get it to work?

    Yeah you need to add the following to your .cfg file:

    [io]

    file_first = true

    did you put those edited unit/building files in a separate folder and make a bat file? there are instruction in the unpacker and also in mod section here.

    Having a problem getting recruitable "Armoured Sergeants" for England. I Editted the export_desc_building.txt file so they show up under Enable training of when I right click on the Drill Square in a castle. I modified just the the Lands to Conquer mod as far as the edb file is concerned. But they do not show up in the recruitment tab for the Fortress. What am I missing? Anything I need to do in the export_descr_unit.txt file?
