    Default Odd diplomacy

to start off, i'm using 1.2 and vanilla. I've been doing a little bit of experimenting with playing a diplomatic game as apposed to an aggressive one, and i found something interesting. Apparently, while i was at war with Egypt, they wouldn't accept my Generous offer of money, peace, trade rights, to end the conflict over Jerusalem. The odd part comes in that despite them rejecting my offer, i kept increasing it slightly (trying to barter a good deal) and noticed they weren't breaking off negotiations, and our relations were getting better......observe the following two pictures of the same diplomacy session.......

and heres after i started noticing it...........

My question is this, is this an intended function to make diplomacy viable, or is it merely some sort of bug/exploit i've stumbled into?

I haven't ever had this happen before when playing 1.0, so hence why i've asked...

I don't know. But I'm sure going to try it and find out.

I can say: Wow, you got many allies there, as opposed to your Egyptian enemy which has many enemy (and made alliance with blasphemer instead, the Byzantine). Maybe this factor, combined with your "Very Reliable" reputation has something to influence your relation?

But that's just my guess. I'm not sure.

Very reliable reputation with supreme power. Are you playing a mod?

Also is it a long or short campaign. I've found the AI behaves considerably different on short/long campaigns.

short campaign, and as stated its vanilla. I managed to pull a few strings by keeping Europe off my back as i tear into Egypt and Byzantines by only expanding eastward, and no other direction. In fact, my starting capitol is still bordered to HRE/Poland/Venice..........

Diplomacy is probably the greatest bug in all of the TW series, no matter how many times and order what conditions i offer a ceasefire the faction still refuses.I remember playing as HRE when Millan attacked me, after beating them to only one city the pope ordered me to declare peace with them so i sent a diplomat and offered their previous capital Millan for a ceasefire but they still said no and refused to negotiate, Makes no sense at all
