Ok, so I don't want to spam the message board with lots of silly little questions. What should I do when I have them?
That being said, I have one: what happens if I tinker with the "rebellious" column in the text files.

First of all, make sure you first search the forum to see if anyone else has asked the same question recently. You certainly don't have to look through every single thread -- that would obviously take forever -- but at least check out the discussions from the last few weeks or so. Otherwise, however, just go ahead and post them in the appropriate forum (MTW singleplayer questions in the Main Hall, MTW modding questions in the Alchemist Lab, etc.).Originally Posted by random_pipings

I believe that affects the rebelliousness of the various provinces in the game. I'll not answer that one specifically, however, as that's more in the department of someone like Cambyses II or YLC.Originally Posted by random_pipings

Depends on which text file. If it's one of the startpos files, e.g. early.txt, then it will be the provincial rebellious factor. Increasing this lowers the base happiness of the province.

0 - 10 I believe, 10 being the most rebellious.

That's awesome. I've always thought provinces in the game should be more rebellious. And now, they will be.![]()
A word of caution, you will most certainly be better at controlling over-rebellious provinces than the computer. You may find the AI factions simply not expanding at all or degenerating into less challenging rebel trash.
Sometimes good people must kill bad people to protect the rest of the people.
That's why I didn't go any higher than 3 (and then only for some provinces like Bulgaria, Estonia, Prussia, and a couple of others).
I have some more questions. I've made a seperate copy of the XL Early Startpos file and I'm trying to create a campaign that reflects Europe as it was in 1025. I want to change the names of some of the factions (specifically, I want to change the Armenians to the Chazars and the Volga-Bulgarians to the Pechenegs) and it would be nice to change some of the unit names as well. I'm completely new to modding. How do I do this?
