Default Picked General's Bodyguard upgrade bug?

I'm assuming that the Equites Consulares are supposed to upgrade to the Equites Singulares during the Imperial reforms, but mine never have. Is it not supposed to happen or is their something wrong with the scripting. I can build them as recruitable generals but I cannot upgrade my existing generals and the new generals (family members) don't have it either. Thanks.

No they do not upgrade at the imperial reforms. We may be able to do it by the vanilla marian reforms, but that isn't a certainty at the moment. For the moment the consulares are your bg for the entire game.

    Foot,
Thanks! I'll try some things out to see if they work and are stable. If I get it to work, I'll let you know if you'd like.

The only way to upgrade an general (as done in vanilla) is to use the upgrade_general_unit attribute, which becomes active after the vanilla reforms. But the timing is off, as the upgraded general would be avaliable far earlier than the Roman group want it to be. There may be a possibility of timing the vanilla reform, but we haven't worked on that too much yet.

You won't find another way of doing this thing.
