Is there anybody beside me here never had 10 star general & how??
I never had 10 star general and I admire the fact that lot of people had several 10star general leading their Legions.
What it takes to build them to 10star??

Well, mostly, you must fight with a general with a lot of courage and send them in the midst of battle. Or you can just pick a young one and make him kill the fleeing men.
Hi and welcome varuna,
Gaining a ten-star general is hard, very hard, but, on the good side, it is possible and do-able.
Generals get up-to ten stars fastest by winning many battles where the odds are immensely against them (for example, a heroic victory where the odds were predicted as 1:3). If you win this sort of battle plenty of times, then soon enough you will get yourself a good ranking general. If you haven't got any foes to try this on, save the rebels in your lands for training practice. This tactic works best with young generals, as they are less likely to die before reaching ten-stars. Generals can also gain extra stars when the battle odds are equal or slightly in their favour, however it is much less likely to occur.
Another way of boosting up your generals, is to send them to a city with an Academy or higher. They can develop some command line quite quickly with a good education, and they can also, sometimes, get command boosting ancillaries added to their retinue. However, although this may, sometimes work, it's certainly not as good as posting your generals off to fight against the enemy with great odds against you!
Hope this helps, cheers!
BTW, forgot to mention this, sorry, if you want a extra command star desperately, train some mercenaries to get an ancillary know as a "Mercenary Captain".

when they come of age(16) send them to a city with an academy as Omanes Alexandrapolites suggested, and keep them there for 8-10 turns (20-21). Temples help a lot too, Mars, nike, Heraklese(I think), and the "battle forge" temples that Gaul and Armenia have Priests that give command stars. Turncoats (barbarian/roman/greek/eastern) add a command star as do Mercinary Captians. One of the Julii temples (Jupiter, I think) gives 'strategist' line of traits which gives a good nuimber of command stars. you get Skilled Infintry/cavlery commander if you win battle(s) with an army that is >80% (I think) infintry/cav. If you lose a battle against one faction your general might get hates faction X, which is good for a command star. The 'Bloody' line of traits is good for one or 2 early, but it turns bad if it gets too high.
Often my 10 star generals arn't 10 stars till a battle i.e. 5 'natural' stars + good attacked/defender (+2) + a turncoat (+1) + Merc Captian (+1) + skilled infintry/cavlery commander (+1), ect.

I find that the rebels are great for training up junior generals. Rebels generally remain stationary once they show up which allows you to plan your movements to it and the units you want to use. If you have a spy near by you can investigate what your up against and plan accordingly. I have had decent results from battles that has 1:2 odds against my junior general and recieved a heroic victory rating. I have to admit I have never had a 10 star general (8 being the best I have ever gotten) but even an 8 star general with a full stack of combined arms units is unbeatable even with me giving the orders.
ive gotten a 11 star genral, canno as a matterafactaly by just seigeing the scipii town on sicily and losing(a star a lose)

Eh, what? You can't have 11-star generals.

Hi Warmaster Horus,
Technically speaking, sadly, no you cannot have eleven star generals - ten stars is the ultimate maximum in general effects! However, it is possible by having a general with traits which add his ratings up to over ten, however only ten stars can be added up, be displayed on his overview panel and cause an effect in battles. Hope this helps, cheers!Originally Posted by Warmaster Horus

I see, thanks. I meant the amount of stars shown could not go over 10.

I finally managed to get 8star general but the guy was to old and sadly pass away to the afterlife. I believe the reasons I never had 10star because I tend to overly use "diplomatic solution" instead of military action, so the general only act more as "aggressive negotiator" instead of traditional field commander.

I've had a few 10 star generals.
Send a young one to take a city from an enemy. The battles he fights taking it, sometimes 2 or 3 if you are attacked by a relief army several times will earn him a few stars.
The battles that he fights defending the city afterward will also earn him many stars, especially if you have a really stubborn enemy who keeps trying to take a city back.
An example I can give from my XGM campaign is having taken Aepona. Rome attacked me a few turns later, and nearly every turn besieges me with as many as 4 First Cohorts plus supporting troops. I may have to sally out 2 or 3 turns in a row to get rid of one, but eventually I do, and next turn there is another full stack waiting to sacrifice themselves on my lead shot and arrowheads.
That General is now a 10 star and has collected a museum full of eagles. I also have 3 Generals in adjoining towns dealing with the same kinds of attacks.
When I'm ready to advance to the next city or town, they will be leading the columns.

What bonuses do generals give for all those extra stars? I don't think it is the same as MTW where you just got extra experience points... anyone know for sure?

Hi The Fwapper,
Perhaps this old reaserch thread could help you understand the effect of general's command. Hope it answers your query, cheers!
