My Lord-
Oh Milan: Queen of the cities of Italy! This day have we arrived in the city of St. Ambrose. At the request of the town council and the Bishop of the See of Milan, I am to be escorted to the banquet hall this night, in order that we might toast them Empire, and pray for brighter days in its future.
While this great city is of an almost overwhelming grandeur, I can only imagine what greatness lies to our south in the Eternal City. We have endeavored to take good care of our new accomplices, but I fear what complications this may make for us within the Pontiff's precincts. Your guidance most assuredly awaited in these matters. Within a fortnight I may be reached within the environs of Rome. Gloria Dei.

Your most humble and gracious servant in the eyes of God,
-Frederick

P.S. Shall I be assured that the young prince has endeavored further in his Latin studies?

Frederick and his band approach Rome as he requests diplomatic instructions.
