    And here's a text.

Makes you wonder why he wanted the "easy" way out. If it was the easy way, then his stay in Guantanamo can't have been all that easy, can it? Same for the other suiciders mentioned in the article.
And then they say they'll treat his body with respect etc, if they kind of made his stay very hard, that's quite a nice thing to treat him with respect after he died.

Husar, don't make the conservatives here question gitmo, that might make their heads explode...

We all know that the worst thing about it is that the guests(formerly called prisoners) sometimes get a headache from doing everything they want.

Do you people even look into these things before posting them?

Khadr was 15 when he was captured in a firefight with U.S. troops in Afghanistan during which he allegedly killed a U.S. Army special forces soldier with a grenade.
I thought they were all just poor civilians in the wrong place at the wrong time? Theres nothing in any of this that indicates he was mistreated.

Inmate suicides occur in all prisons. A better measure would be comparing suicide rates at Gitmo to other prison systems in the US and other countries. Not as sensational nor politically riveting, but then I guess it's what one wants to derive from the topic that matters.

In the prison system I'm familiar with, New York State, inmate suicides occur several times more frequently within the group of "violent inmates" as opposed to those serving for non-violent offenses. Local and county jail suicide rates are generally higher than the State prison rate, most certainly due to officer training and officer to inmate staffing ratio, and counseling programs available to inmates are much better in the State system.

Bottom line; lessening inmate suicides requires highly trained and motivated staff to listen to and observe inmate behavior and be knowledgeable of the warning signs of imminent suicidal behavior. However, a person determined to commit suicide will likely succeed.

Actually, no. I already spend about 2 hours every morning reading this forum, so I have to save time somewhere.
I consider it your job to show me my mistakes.

Some of them probably are, but since I didn't read the whole text, I deleted my comment about that before posting. Then again, driving a criminal into suicide is not very nice either.

Do you conservatives even read my posts before answering them? I made a lot of assumptions, indicated by the word "if", which basically means the rest of the sentence only applies if a certain other thing is true, yeah I know, it's pretty cheap of me to do it but I'm not entirely sure whether inmates are tortured in gitmo.

I also omitted the other "easy" way I had in mind which is that he was indeed a terrorist and killed himself because he was in enemies' hands. I didn't mention it because it's not as "easy" since he won't accomplish any of his goals that way. Well, now that you quoted what I hadn't read, he probably chose that way anyway.
