In all of the Mak campaign that this is in, now at 181 BC, I have never, ever seen this building available. So what made it available there? The only thing I can think of is that there was a Roman City Garrison and my Mak Forward Garrison. But damn, the pic looks like a friggin' castle!
So, just what IS it, and what build tree does it belong on? And why have I not seen it until this far into the game? Makes me wish it had its description and art done, cuz now I'm one curious monkey (no men with yellow hats need apply).

I believe that is the upgrade to the forward garrison for huge cities. I've seen it before but know nothing about it.

But I have plenty of Huge Cities with a Forward garrison and I have yet to be offered this delectable item. Oh well I'm building my castle anyways.

You need an advance garrison, and the 2nd level of the normal town garrison building, at least a type 2 government, and a large city, then you can make it.. If I understand it right, it also reduces the cost of military buildings.
I shouldn't have to live in a world where all the good points are horrible ones.

Is he hurt? Everybody asks that. Nobody ever says, 'What a mess! I hope the doctor is not emotionally harmed by having to deal with it.'

From what I observed, a Forward Garrison is necessary to build the other garrisons, and you can only build your Forward Garrison when you have a Military Government. Though Forward garrison seems to be a different type of buildings than garrisons, although they disappear when you built your garrison. Also, for the Fortress there are other buildings necessary I think. I never really understood it.

And I present to you....everything west of Italy that I own. With the exeption of a couple outliers, all my Govs are 1 or 2 there, and most, if not all, should have the advance garrison + 2nd level of town garrison, and all are at least large (if not huge) cities. It could be that I have high enough Military MIC here....I don't think too many of my cities have both a L4+ Factional and Regional.
@Centurio: The Forward Garrison doesn't disappear when you build the Town Garrison. Helps counteract the awful penalties a Type 3 Mak gov gives.
