    Default An easy one...

    ... or IS IT ? (menacing raised eyebrow)

    I've done a quick search for the answer as I'm sure the question must have been asked and answered a thousand times already, but couldn't find anything because I can't find the good keywords :}

    Anyway : is there a maximum number of traits a given general can have at the same time ? If so, how many (ancilliaries I know is something like 9) ? And is there a way to change that number ?

    OK, so that's three easy ones. I'm French, I'm expected to lie .

    Concerning the ancillaries, you can have exactly 8 and not more.

    For the traits I'd say there's no limitation. I once had a general with around 25 traits. I'm almost sure with that. But of course it is limited by the total number of possible traits minus the antitraits which exclude acquiring new traits.

    If you were interested in a number, you would have search through the game files, and that's pretty timeconsuming.

    Likewise I've never seen a limit. I did some ... erm... 'testing' (cheating?) back in RTW when I discovered the 'give_trait' command. I am absolutely positive that I had one guy with well over 40, if not 50 traits before I decided to give up. As such, I doubt that there's really a limit, and if there is, I doubt you'll realistically be able to hit that, unless you are trying really hard. Good luck mon ami!

    All right then, thanks to the both of you. I was wondering, because I can't seem to get one of my govs to get GoodTrader no matter how hard I try and how many merchants I churn out only to send them to "die" at the hands of the Imperial sharks sitting around Arhus. I wondered if it had to do with the fact that he already had a good 15 traits, but obviously that's not it...

    Ah well, back to the drawing board :)

    I'm fairly positive that my faction leader in my Spanish campaign has upward of forty traits.

    He's been in battle so many times and is so dreadful that I actually caused a full stack of Sicilian troops to rout just by having him charge at them while they were already in combat (and winning) against my half stack.

    Rodrigo the Dreadful, I think his name is. He's been everywhere but the British Isles and Russia thus far.

    Ah... i hate charge routes. Reminds me of my prince Conratt the Queen... his (or her) whole army routed from seeing enemy peasants charge, (s)he was 1 point away from becoming The Coward, which i would have preferred over The Queen, in that battle i was like "OMG my general died!!!"
    but then i realized that it was Conratt ^^ didn´t bother me because lot of my troops stopped routing before end thanks to him (or her) dying
