Use one of the exisiting templates in the EDU file and give it another name, making sure you fix all references to it.
Want gunpowder, mongols, and timurids to appear when YOU do?

for example change henry to Edward???
(BTW I am talking about named characters I can use is descr_battle that can be found at data/world/maps/battle/custom

Yes, rename the character in the EDU and the reference to it in descr_battle and it should work just fine
