This from gamespot: The historical battle editor will let players set a lot more variables--how many troops players can start with, their morale, and also which battle they'll move on to next if they win or lose. In other words, the historical battle editor will let players create branching campaigns, with different maps tied together by different victory conditions.

This will be one of the editors shipped with the game (the other one is a map editor). Creating your own SP campaigns cool but are we inching closer to an eventual MP campaign with this?

    Greetings Kuma!

It's been a while since I've visited these hallowed grounds (damn firewall at work is now blocking the Org and I haven't had much free time in the evenings! lol)

Like you, I was thrilled to see the mention of this editor in the Gamespot preview. I don't think that it will bring us any closer to an MP campaign though. This editor should allow us to create our own campaigns similar to the "Unifiers" campaigns in Mongols. What makes this so attractive is that it will allow for a branching campaign, meaning that whether you win or lose a particular battle will determine your setup for the next battle in the campaign!

This should be quite awesome if it works the way it appears it will. It will end up being just one more way to play the game and it will enable the communities editors to create some quite significant challenges for players!
