cheats in MTW

I can get the basic cheats to work (those starting and ending with a full stop) but I cannot get create_unit to work. I see references to using the tilde to open the console. When i enter a tilde i do not get an input screen. when I type in my create_unit command and press enter the next year rolls but nothing happens.

I think you may have the wrong forum, this forum is for MTW1 not M2TW. The ~ console and those type of commands are for RTW/M2TW and STW/MTW does not support them, only the .command. type of commands.
