Inquisitors

I am playing as Milan on Med/ med. I am real friendly with the pope and I have 3 cardinals in the college. I have conquered Tunis, Algiers and Tripoli and I have several Cardinals and Priests converting the locals in these areas. I have 7 crosses on the papal popularity scale. With all of this why are the Inquistitors killing off my generals. I had one pesky Inquistitor whacked, but I know this can backfire on me (excommunication). What can I do to the Inquisitors, can they be bribed.

Inquis most usually spawn in high heresy regions. After that, they're pretty much fire-and-forget, meaning if your neighbour doesn't keep his heresy in check, he'll spawn inquis which may come over to your lands afterwards. Might want to use those cardinals around your lands as well.

As to how to deal with existing inquis, well besides the assassin thing, there's a well known exploit to off any kind of agent (including inquis) : surround him with 8 military units, then drop a 9th one on top of him. The game has the agent move one square to make way for mil units, but since all squares are already occupied he has nowhere to go and ... disappears.

Assassinate the buggers! I kill them all the time and the 1.2 patch makes it easier, it seems.

Might want to use those cardinals around your lands as well.

That might not be such a good idea. An inquisitor killed one of my cardinals and Sicilian guy took his place.
