Thats what I meant. I was hoping that if my Arverni empire would encompass Egypt, then maybe I might include Galatae colonials in my forces. Being a Pan-Celtic faction, I would have assumed that I would have access to Galatikoi Lavotuxri and Kuarotheroi from central Anatolia. But as I'm thirty years away from my first military reforms in the game, then I suppose I'll have to wait for their western counterparts to appear.

I hate to be a critic, but being a Pan-Celtic faction, I thought it would have stood to reason that I would be able to muster the kind of soldiers from provinces that historically had a high population of Celts. I've read somewhere that among the first Galatian mercenaries that served under Ptolemy II actually mutineed and attempted to establish their own independent kingdom on the banks of the Nile before they were thwarted and annihilated.

Ask CA to raise the model limit in RTW

All I'm saying is that any faction should, by rights, be able to recruit the sort of warriors that share their culture and ethnicity from any country that had them.

Yeah, but like they are saying, repeatedly, we just can't get the game to do it due to model limits. I don't think you understand it means we just can't do it. We aren't going to use up an entirely new model slot for reduplication of a unit that only the celtic factions could get only if they make it to the Nile Delta. That would be crazy.

Don't get me wrong, its not that I don't understand that the model selection needs to be redesigned. I'm just stating my opinion, repeatedly it seems. I'm not expecting someone to snap their fingers and sort out the discrepancies in the game designs at a moments notice. I just would have thought something like this may have crossed someone's mind before the mod was released. If it means increasing the number of units in the game to accomodate this idea, then just stick it on the backburner.

As, I said in another thread, wouldn't this be worthy of consideration:

"would it not be more historical than not to let Aedui and Arvernii recruit factionals there? Afterall, if just about anyone else can recruit the lavotaxurii and the like, it seems very unfair that the gauls can only recruit kludonon (or what ever they're called). Ok, the unit names might be slightly wrong, but atleast the units are there, and it will make Ankyra rebeling to the Gauls much more fun if they could recruit some high end units there..."

You really don't understand. We are creating a mod, not the game the mod is for. The limit for models is hardcoded in RTW and we *can't* do anything about it, we just don't have access to that code. If we were to create this model, another would have to be removed, and as TA says it would be crazy to use up one of this precious commodity for a unit that would be used by extremely few people. EB is hitting pretty much every hardcoded limit there is now, among them the number of models.

Having problems getting EB2 to run? Try these solutions.

Umm, I don't think you do understand, it has nothing to do with model selection. The Celts already use texture slots on the models that are also used for most of the galatian models, this means that the Celts cannot have ownership of galatian units. We cannot change this until EB2.

I'm just stating my opinion, repeatedly it seems.
We already know what you want, we are saying we cannot do it.

It did cross our minds, but we cannot do anything about it. Though I'm suprised that the factional units for the Gallic factions are not avaliable there.

If it means increasing the number of units in the game to accomodate this idea, then just stick it on the backburner.
We cannot increase the number of units in the game. So we cannot accomodate your idea. Thats why we didn't do it.
