Oh wait, you refer to those pictures and the accusations of Solypsist being fake or having violated copyright laws because someone taught to have seen the same pixels in a magazine?

Yes, his guild is proved, the judge asked me to thank all of us for bringing in hard evidence, without that the criminal may have gotten away with it. He's sent to Siberia to pick daisies using his bare toes. 1 kg for each violated pixel.

I understand the reply, and that is fair. But allow me to elaborate on my question, please. I suppose I did leave it rather vague.

Although I can't find the thread at the moment, I recall that several patrons had seen images which Soly had claimed to have taken. I was one of those patrons, and I had seen one of those photos in Time or Newsweek, if my memory serves me correctly.

If I also remember correctly, there was a discrepancy between what Soly had provided to us and what the Magazine offered. I don't recall entirely, but something about the origination or originator of the photograph.

The controversy here was quite genuine, and the patrons had some legitimate questions.

The results of that controversy concluded with thread closures, stonewalling, and Soly's disappearance. If Solypsist had been only a member and not a staff member, the conversation would have continued and questions might hae been answered. What many of us found disturbing was the way that this was handled. We weren't allowed to discuss the issue, and legitimate questions were never answered.

I was hoping that since it has been nearly a year, the time would be right to ask about this and maybe find out the truth.

Forgive me, but I appear to be incorrect about that. It seems that this goes to the depths of the Org administration. Which gives us the truth about this conspiracy:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
TosaInu is actually Dick Cheney, and Solypsist is an undercover CIA agent who has disappeared to continue his work in a secret eastern european torture prison.

Div, I suspect this falls into the realm of privacy. The staff does not discuss actions or issues regarding members unless that member chooses to bring the matter to public discussion. So, unless soly returns and chooses to discuss the subject, it seems unlikely the general membership will learn the details. Until such a thing happens, we in the gallery will have to be content with the gnawing mystery of it all.

    Hello Divinus Arma,

I know bits of the topic. I've not seen the topic(s) that spawned that topic.

I know where the topic is, I know where Solypsist is, I think it's a weird topic and that's it.

Maybe staffmembers who were fully active there and then can comment? Please remember knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violative of any law. in the rules.

Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

I saw the thread that was deleted from the Backroom and that led to the discussion in the Watchtower.
Soly started a thread about what he saw in Lebanon (being apparently very upset about it).
He posted a couple of pictures that were identified by some patrons as pictures that have been published elsewhere which led to the conclusion that these pictures were not taken by Soly.
Based on this Soly was accused of being a fraud who was incorrectly claiming to post pictures made by him.
These accusations were made under the false assumption that Soly actually claimed that the posted pictures were his - a claim that he did not make in the entire thread.T
The false assumption was probably based on the fact that Soly previously posted pictures from a trip to Iraq - of those pictures he indeed explicitly mentioned that they were made by him.
When the accusations started to rise in the Backroom thread Soly decided to delete the thread - and I can only speculate about the reasons. It seems most likely that under the circumstances at that time he did not feel like responding to comments that were questioning his integrity and crossed the border of rather personal attacks (it should be kept in mind that Soly was apparently quite upset when starting the thread and just wanted to post some information on the situation in Lebanon - it seemed that he neither was in the mood nor did he have the time to engage into a discussion that was not about the original thread topic anymore).
After that things kind of went downhill and there were a number of patrons who took this opportunity to grind an axe - personally I cannot blame Soly that was not inclined to return and "explain himself" after the personal attacks we had to witness.

    Hello edyzmedieval,

    Sorry, I can't share.
