It is better, it relates to frequency.

There is no three though. And I still think they should have minot public order bonuses, afterall, the population will be happy at the possibilty/anticipation of races, not just at the races themselves surely?

A larger complex can accomodate more spectators. Also, a bigger building gives the citizens some pride of them having a nice hippodrom and not only a dirty little racing track at the next hillside.

    Sorry for crazy grammar.

On the other hand, you'd also be getting the Antique equivalents of football hooligans wouldn't you ? I seem to recall reading racing fans could get pretty... unruly.

I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."

Yup, in any case races 3 is daily races, which is just absurd.

So you get years races and later monthly races.

Eh... Both the hippodrome and the circvs maximvs allow you to control how often you want races. It's like building an arena, that allows you to set how often you want games, and it doesn't change by upgrading to an amphitheatre etc.

The only difference there is that an amphitheatre has a larger passive public order bonus than an arena. But a circvs maximvs doesn't have a larger passive public order bonus than a hippodrome.

That is because the "circus_maximus" is not the "Circus Maximus". The Circus Maximus is the "hippodrome" level in the code. That's why the bonus doesn't appear to go up - it does actually, but it's because we reduced the levels that way in this complex. We retained it in the code though to keep from having any battle map problems.

Out of the timeframe, but I vaguely recall Justinian outlawing the entire sport alltogether after some particulary nasty riots.
